Join our cast of indigenous actors!
How to submit: Actors should submit updated headshots and resumes to firstname.lastname@example.org. Electronic submissions must be formatted correctly in order to be considered. Both resume and picture should be in a PDF format as one attachment and your name must appear on your picture. PDF should be named Lastname_Firstname.pdf (e.g. Doe_Jane.pdf). Please note your current city of residence in your email. Please, no phone calls.
Safe Harbors NYC accepts full-length scripts year-round. Preference up to 70 pages for our annual January festival, Reflections of Native Voices. Our commitment to fostering Native voices, we invite unrepresented writers from Native Country.
To submit your interest: Enter and upload your submission below. Include a brief bio, tribal affiliation, short synopsis of play and ten pages of sample dialogue (PDF format only). We prefer short plays, comedies, musicals, one-person shows, devised work and a cast of no more than 4-6 characters. We Do Not accept large historical pieces at this time.
*This policy allows us to serve playwrights and the Native American Emerging Directors Lab in January. We are committed to discovering new voices in Indian Country, and do so by building partnerships with new play development organizations, playwrights’ centers, literary agencies and other theaters nationwide.
We LOVE hearing from enthusiastic people who are willing to give their time and energy to our commitment towards making meaningful theater. In the past, Safe Harbors volunteers have helped with projects in Development, Education and Administration.
We’re always looking for friendly, outgoing volunteers for our festival in January.
